Password: A Padlock Pendant

A symbolic pendant set with small stones

A highly symbolic object, the padlock has been a source of inspiration in jewelry for centuries.

Caroline de Benoist, in turn, has drawn inspiration from ancient numbered padlocks to create her very own interpretation of this universal object, which she presents in hand-enameled pendants and bracelets.

The French designer has created a pendant whose four rings are engraved with letters and set with small coloured stones. Each ring turns on itself.

Placed in order, the letters form the words: Amor - Love - Sexy - Free - You.

Out of order, the letters merrily intermingle with the multicolored stones. A symbolic, feminine pendant like a love code: Mot de passe.

This pendant is also available as a bracelet.

This jewelry model was an instant hit, so Caroline created several variations of the Mot de passe pendant.

With Mot de passe Jackpot, 3 rings are engraved with the symbols of famous casino slot machines and set with small colored stones. Each ring spins on its own in this version too. Placed in the right order, 3 cherries, 3 bells, 3 hearts, 3 numbers 7 or 3 stars ... and you've hit the jackpot!

The rings are entirely enameled by hand.

Caroline then sought to insert a fine, energetic stone into these pendants, around which each of the rings continues to revolve, starting with green onyx, a stone she's particularly fond of for its soothing virtues and its deep, vivid color.

White agate, carnelian, pink or blue chalcedony, lapis lazuli and turquoise have since been added to the Mots de passe clan, which has now become an iconic part of the Caroline de Benoist universe.
